10th Conference of the Scandinavian-Baltic Society for Parasitology

It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 10^th Conference of the Scandinavian-Baltic Society for Parasitology (CSBSP10), in Estonia, in Tartu, (5)6-7 of June 2023. The tenth conference in the well-known series is the first one to be held in Estonia. The theme is “Parasites and hosts in shared environment”.  

CSBSP10 is an excellent opportunity for both experienced and early-career researchers to present their novel research in the fields related to parasitology, including One Health, veterinary and medical parasitology, wildlife and fish parasitology, and climate change and in parasitology. 

The conference venue, the Conference Center of the University of Tartu Library, is located in the city center of Tartu. The picturesque small Hanseatic city is famous for its river Emajõgi that runs through the city and of course for the University of Tartu founded in 1632. The gala dinner on the 6^th of June will be hosted at the University of Tartu Museum, which is an old medieval Cathedral. The slogan of Tartu is “City of good thoughts” and we are convinced that both the conference and the city itself will treat you with many good thoughts.  

The conference program consists of oral presentations, poster pitches and posters. Furthermore, you can join workshops that are intended for students, early career scientists and for experienced colleagues. We encourage attending on-site, but the event will be hybrid to add flexibility and inclusiveness.

Our society, Scandinavian-Baltic Society for Parasitology (SBSP), turns 20 years young this year*, and we celebrate this in Tartu, Estonia, at our tenth conference! We hope to see many of you there, to share knowledge and inspiration, and to discuss parasites, hosts, and our shared environment.

*) Scandinavian-Baltic Society for Parasitology (SBSP) is an active international society that encourages and promotes parasitology in the Nordic and the Baltic countries. SBSP was founded in 2003 by the fusion of Scandinavian Society for Parasitology (est. 1967) and Baltic Society for Parasitology (est. 1993). The society organizes an international congress every second year, and hosted EMOP XII in 2016 in Finland and co-hosted ICOPA XV in 2022 in Denmark.
